Solve Connectivity Problems in RFID Installations

The versatile RFID I/O Controller Kit (ROCK) provides a wide variety of device connectivity options with Ethernet-based control. A single, small, rugged ROCK can control:

  • Two Stacklight Indicator lights,
  • Two photo eye inputs,
  • Two relays and
  • One RS232 interface.

Designed With Integrators In Mind

The ROCK provides interfaces to the event capture and indicator components most commonly used in RFID installations. Independent control over each device is provided through a simple command interface over a TCP connection. There is no need to plug into the RFID reader. A small physical footprint allows the ROCK to be installed in tight conveyor or portal environments. Fully connectorized interfacing allows for quick integration without cutting and stripping cables. Real time Event ManagementThe Photo Eye trigger component of the ROCK insures that sensor events are reported to an application within 10 ms without the need for polling. This is suitable for high speed conveyor line applications where real time performance is a requirement.

Drives High Visibility Indicators and Annunciators

The ROCK is designed to be plug and play with all Venture Research indicators and annunciators, including stack and front panel mount lights. This provides the utmost in flexibility in configuring a system for operator alerting.

Avoids Proprietary Reader I/O Interfacing

The ROCK provides software systems with a consistent I/O command set, regardless of RFID reader used. It also eliminates the possibility of interference between I/O facilities and tag interrogation in RFID readers.
